Parent-Toddler Jan 22-29, 2019

Hello Families,

It’s been a busy two weeks for the toddlers.  The children really enjoyed making fresh lemonade from lemons in the fruit press. They helped us add sugar and water. They enjoyed tasting our lemonade. In fact,  we drank the whole pitcher!

The children have been enjoying working with a new art supply, Nuudles. They look like colorful packing peanuts and stick to paper when water is applied. The children have spent a good deal of time making 3D art creations with this new medium.  We also introduced the toddlers to Eco Clay. They did not like the slippery, sticky texture of this clay, and so it went unused.

The sensory table was filled with water, soap, and toys for practicing pouring. We added tablets that changed the color of the water for a new experience. As always, playdough, trains, cars, and the kitchen area were popular areas of exploration.

We visited the multi-purpose room for some gross motor and sensory activities. The children enjoyed the sensory swing, trampoline, rocking horses, and balance beam. During outside time,  there was much play to be had in the sandbox, which contained new sand perfect for building sandcastles. The children also enjoyed being chased around the climber and figuring out new ways to go down the slide.
