The Children's School by the Numbers

• 1980 - year founded.
• 1983 - relocated to current home.
• 1989 - Year The Children's School received the National Association for Education of Young Children (NAEYC) accreditation - the first school in Boise to receive NAEYC accreditation.
• 1999 - TCS played a leadership role in developing a nationally recognized educational resource on the teaching of children and conflict. Students who leave The Children's School do so with competence in communication and a strong ability to problem solve.
• 2008-2009 - TCS participation as a research site for a study funded by the National Science Foundation. With the "Ramps and Pathways" project, children problem solved scientific problems related to motion, slope, and speed.
• May 31, 2011 - date that Mayor Bieter issued a proclamation honoring The Children's School for its 30-year history.
• 2-8 - ages of children enrolled at The Children's School.
• 1,000 - since its founding, TCS has transformed more than 1,000 children in Boise into inquisitive, self-directed, and empathetic learners.
