Accreditation
The Children's School of Boise, Inc. is the first early childhood program in Boise to earn national accreditation by National Academy of Early Childhood Programs.
The National Academy of Early Childhood Programs is a division of the National Association for the Education of Young Children, the nation's largest professional organization of young child educators. An accredited program has undergone a comprehensive process of self-study, verified by external professional review, to certify compliance with the Academy's criteria for high quality programs.
Re-accreditation every five years includes an annual evaluation by school parents. The high program standards assure parents of thoughtful and active attention to children's physical, social-emotional, and cognitive development.
An accredited program includes:
- frequent, positive, warm interactions among adults and children.
- smaller class sizes.
- specially-trained teachers.
- stimulating activities such as block-building, art, children's literature, music, dress-up, cooking, carpentry, animals, and active outdoor play.
- a healthy and safe environment.
- nutritious snacks.
- regular communication with parents who are welcome visitors at all times.
- effective administration.
- ongoing, systematic evaluation.
