Board of Directors

The Children's School of Boise Inc. is a private non-profit corporation with a Board of Directors. The Board establishes and reviews basic policy for the educational philosophy, enrollment procedures, physical plant, financial health and future growth of the school. The board members are selected from the community by a nominating committee with most being alumni parents. The Board is balanced by skills in education, law, finance, and psychology. A slate of officers is elected annually by the board. All members have committee responsibility and serve a three-year term.

Theresa Willerup

Theresa Willerup, President

Theresa returned to Boise in 2007 after spending 8 years overseas living in England and Denmark. Theresa graduated from Kuna High School in 1988, received her BS in Computer Science from the University of Idaho, and her MBA from the University of the West of England, in Bristol, England in 2001. She is now employed at PakSense, Inc. as the director of business development. Theresa and her husband Frederik are the proud parents of two boys and a girl.

Deanna Smith

Deanna Smith, Vice President

Deanna is the parent of two TCS alumni. After 10 years as an active parent volunteer at TCS Deanna became a substitute teacher and then an assistant teacher for two years. She left teaching to pursue her passion in community work at Idaho Smart Growth where she works as a community organizer and administrator. Deanna has served on various other non-profit boards and currently serves on her neighborhood association board as Past President. Outside of work Deanna enjoys walking and biking in the Boise foothills with their family dog Olive. She loves doing anything outdoors - camping, hiking, backpacking, canoeing, whitewater rafting and skiing although she and her family have not found as much time in recent years to get out as much as she would like.

Christine Jayo

Christine Jayo, Treasurer

Christine is an alumni parent of the Children's School and lifelong Boise resident. Christine earned her B.A. in Business Management from the University of Utah and her M.B.A. from Boise State University. She spent the first fifteen years of her career in the finance and banking industries. When her first child entered the preschool years, Christine's interests and passion turned increasingly towards education. Her work with Invent Now Kids, Inc., a subsidiary of the National Inventors Hall of Fame Foundation (NIHFF) began in 2004. The educational programs of the NIHFF encourage problem solving and build confidence and interest in science through discovery, with the goal of inspiring the next generation of inventors. Christine and her husband Richard have one daughter and one son.

Teri Tate-McColly

Teri Tate-McColly, Secretary

Teri is the proud mother and grandmother of The Children's School alumni. Both Teri's daughters attended the Children School in the early 80s and thrived as a result. "The Children's School created a foundation for my daughters that gave them a love of learning and the confidence to be themselves! It was a valuable experience and the return on investment has been rich." Teri's granddaughters have also been enrolled in programs at The Children's School and hopefully the lessons and experienced gained will serve them as they travel to their next billet with the Navy. Currently Teri is working with Idaho Rivers United in membership development. Because she grew up in McCall Ð she loves a river...

Annie Black

Annie Black, P-TCS Liaison

Annie is a current TCS parent and serves as liaison between the TCS and Parents for TCS boards. She's been in Boise for 15 years, drawn by the mix of vibrant city life and easy access to outdoor fun. Prior to parenting full-time, Annie worked in the energy efficiency and renewable energy field. She has a BA from Williams College and an MBA from Northwestern University. She and her husband Tom enjoy cooking, gardening, cycling and skiing.

Jean Britton

Jean Britton, Board Member

Jean Britton is a past TCS parent and has worked in the Early Childhood field for over 30 years. When Jean began her master's degree in Early Childhood Education at BSU, she returned to the early childhood classroom as parent/ toddler group facilitator and 3's teacher at The Children's School and later collaborated on the Children and Conflict project. She began teaching part time at Boise State University as the Child Development Associate instructor/advisor and now is full time faculty in Early Childhood Education at the College of Western Idaho. Jean most enjoys her practicum courses where she supports and works with teachers in their early childhood classrooms.

Holly Paquette

Holly Paquette, Board Member

Holly is a fourth generation Idahoan and an alumni parent. After 12 years of exploring, she chose to move back to Boise for the family friendly environment and great outdoors. She spent many hours with her nose pressed up to the observation windows at TCS, observing her two children. She feels a strong connection to TCS for the love of learning it inspired in her children. She is a certified personal trainer and enjoys running and skiing. She is married to a French-Canadian and has a son and daughter.

Susan Park

Susan Park, Board Member

Susan is pleased to be in her sixth year as a member of the Board of Directors of TCS after spending seven years as a parent of two happy TCS students, who are now in 5th and 8th grade. Susan grew up in Boise, graduating from Boise High School in 1980. She earned a BA in English from the University of Colorado and a J.D. from the University of Idaho College of Law. Currently she teaches Legal Studies courses at Boise State University. Susan spends most of her time having fun with her boys. She enjoys her family and friends, movies and books, travel and skiing, food and wine, and Boise and Payette Lake.

Michael Snow

Michael Snow, Board Member

Michael moved to Boise in 1996 after living throughout Canada and Germany with his air force family. Michael earned his B.A. in Architecture from the University of Idaho in 1996, and his diploma in Architectural Technology from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) in Calgary, Alberta in 1989. He has worked as the lead designer for Strite design + remodel since 1997, and in 2006, Michael authored of a book about Porch design, published by Harper Collins. Michael has volunteered for TCS over the years, initially serving as a member of the Finance and Planning Committee, and most recently as the Chair of the Building Committee. Michael and his wife Amy are the proud parents of two alumni of The Children's School. They enjoy hiking, skiing, and spend the majority of their non-winter weekends away camping.

Jeff Storti

Jeff Storti, Board Member

Jeff is a native of Boise and an alumni of TCS. He is the Business Development Director for URS Corporation in Boise. Jeff received his B.S. from the University of Idaho and continues to be active with the University. He has experience working on several boards and committees related to education around the valley. Jeff enjoys spending time with his family, traveling and golfing. He is an avid sports fan, and can be found supporting his various teams throughout the year.

Clint Tate

Clint Tate, Board Member

Clint is a lifelong resident of Boise. He is President of Enterprise Electric, Inc., an electrical contracting company and director of Tates Rents, Inc. He received his B.A. from University of Puget Sound and his M.B.A. from Babson College. He has previous experience as a board member for a number of other local non-profit entities. Clint and his wife Alison have two children, a boy and a girl.
